Domaine Achillée is a family-run estate in Scherwiller, Alsace, known for biodynamic farming, natural winemaking, and a strong commitment to sustainability. The Dietrich family has worked the land in Alsace for generations, and the domaine began organic conversion in 1999 before moving to biodynamics in 2003. Since 2016, Jean and Pierre Dietrich have bottled the estate’s wines themselves. Their vineyards span multiple soil types, including gravel, sandstone, clay, granite, and schist, which helps create precise, terroir-driven wines. The cellar is also distinctive: a passive bioclimatic building made from wood and straw.
They produce the traditional Alsace grapes, including Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, and Muscat, often with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. The style is clean, natural, and expressive rather than wild, with a focus on freshness, texture, and transparency
