Obrecht
Graubünden, Switzerland
Weingut Obrecht is a family-owned, fifth-generation winery in Jenins, Graubünden, Switzerland, now led by Christian and Francisca Obrecht. They took over the estate in 2006 and converted it to biodynamic viticulture under the Demeter certification, embracing holistic, natural methods like horn manure preparation to enrich soil. Their approach prioritizes harmony with nature, minimizing synthetic inputs and working in rhythm with lunar and seasonal cycles.
Cultivating around seven hectares of vineyards, the Obrechts specialize in elegant, terroir-driven white and red wines. Their portfolio includes acclaimed bottlings such as Chardonnay, Riesling-Sylvaner blends, the rich “Monolith” Pinot Noir, and sparkling “Blanc de Noir,” many of which have earned high Falstaff scores (e.g., 93 points for their 2021 Chardonnay and 91–93 points for various cuvées).
With annual production around 80,000 bottles, the estate combines artisanal craftsmanship and biodynamic philosophy to produce highly expressive, site-specific wines renowned for clarity, elegance, and a true sense of place.
