Yann Durieux: The Artisan Behind Recrue des Sens

Yann Durieux, the visionary behind Recrue des Sens, has made a significant impact in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits region of Burgundy with his natural winemaking approach. After a decade of honing his skills at Domaine Prieuré Roch, Durieux launched Recrue des Sens in 2010, working on a small 3-hectare plot in Villers-La-Faye. His mentor, Henri-Frédéric Roch, greatly influenced his winemaking philosophy, encouraging him to vinify his first vintages in the esteemed domain's cellars.

Biodynamic and Minimal Intervention Practices
Yann Durieux is committed to organic and biodynamic viticulture, avoiding the use of chemicals entirely. His vineyards are meticulously maintained to promote biodiversity and soil health. The grapes are handpicked and whole-bunch fermented with natural yeasts. Durieux’s wines are aged in old barrels, without the addition of sulfur or filtration, ensuring they are as natural as possible.

Durieux is known for his innovative techniques, such as fermenting and aging wines in old barrels to preserve their natural state. His wines have garnered significant attention in the natural wine community, praised for their purity and complexity.
