Tasting Notes: Pionda is a red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, a predominant grape variety in the region but in that area of the region more an more replaced by Barbera. This Nebbiolo is fresh and fragrant, with structured and strong tannins but not overbearing on alcohol, even if drunk young.
The wine undergoes a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and are subsequently are aged in old wooden barrels before they are bottled.
