Tasting Notes: Marcaleone is a red wine made from Grignolino grapes, an ancient variety of that particular area of the Piemonte region. If treated with respect it offers complex and exciting wines. This is a prime example of an exciting, young excellent expression of Grignolino, we take our hats of to the wine makers for this. A wine that is incredibly versatile and can be drunk from lunch to aperitif to dinner – a true versatile label for your table. Fresh, light, great acidity and yet beautiful flavors. The wine undergoes a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and are subsequently are aged in old wooden barrels before they are bottled.
