Comando G

Madrid, Spain

Comando G is a small, obsessive Garnacha project founded by friends Fernando García and Daniel Gómez Jiménez‑Landi in the mountains of the Sierra de Gredos, west of Madrid. Their focus is rescuing old, high‑altitude vineyards on decomposed granite and farming them organically and biodynamically, often by hand on very steep slopes, to capture a precise sense of place rather than power.

In the cellar they work with a minimalist philosophy: whole‑cluster fermentations with native yeasts, gentle extraction (often by foot‑treading), and aging in large neutral vessels or concrete so that Garnacha’s perfume, texture, and the tension of the granite soils are not masked by oak. Volumes remain relatively small and most cuvées are allocated, but the wines have become reference points for elegant, mineral, “mountain Garnacha,” inspiring a new generation of Spanish producers and putting Gredos firmly on the fine‑wine map.
