Rosi Schuster

Burgenland, Austria

The young Hannes Schuster from St. Margarethen in Burgenland took over his parents' winery, known as Weingut Rosi Schuster, in 2005. In this short time, he has worked his way up to the top of the Austrian red wine scene. After taking over the winery, Hannes began to switch to gentle cultivation and organically certified cultivation. He greatly reduced white wine production and now uses the 11 hectares of the estate mainly for the production of sophisticated red wines, primarily Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent. Hannes is equally determined in the cellar. He does without enzymes, pure yeasts and the usual ingredients of modern oenology. He is uncompromisingly committed to slow wine, for which he seeks advice from Roland Velich. It is therefore not surprising that Hannes Schuster's wines are also based on natural conditions and are therefore delicate and cool.
